A misunderstood and underappreciated movie. It wasn't my favorite, but I was shocked whenever the Hulk appeared. I rather have an actual threat, than a neutered overly-comedic, Mark Ruffalo, professor hulk fool who isn't intimidating, got humiliated by Thanos, and isn't as nearly as intense or aggressive like Ang Lee and Edward Norton's version respectively. Count me out, Marvel. Let's see why more pandering and fraudulent activity gets you...

This was one of the first super hero movies I watched as a kid. At first, I didn’t understand it. It did make me feel scared, excited, emotional. Unlike current day marvel movies. Overtime, I finally understood it, and I will definitely watch it again

SKIP Horrible video, a song literally makes the narrator cry hysterically like a baby, and his parents bought a bootleg copy of the movie. Save your time and watch something that isn't a total cringe fest.

Nobody could ever make me dislike this film. Sure, some of the CGI is goofy but that doesn’t take away from how well it’s crafted. Absorbing man being so hell-bent on taking Bruce’s power, only to immediately reject it when Bruce lets him have it is an incredible full circle moment that has stuck in my mind since I was a little boy

Comic books are often called modern mythologies, contemporary versions of the complex worlds created for the greek gods. Ang Lee's Hulk might be the only comic book film that really shows that side of the art form. In addition to being closest visually to a comic book. It might not completely connect to everyone but you have to tip your hat to the huge swings taken.

I watched this movie when I was 13 and loved it, I started having dreams that I could become the Hulk. The scene when Hulk and Bruce finally sync up and speak together to scream "Take it all!" still gives me chills to this day and you did a great job breaking down why it's so powerful. The moment was earned, unlike MCU's treatment of resolving his issues off screen and becoming a nerd. By the way, the "dated CGI" is mostly the dogs. Hulk has never looked as real as he did here, nor as expressive.

I’m 49 years old and your essay here has prompted me to rewatch the movie. I never hated it, but it also didn’t grab me like I wanted it to. For me it wasn’t the editing style or conclusion that lacked action. I was put off because it was too faithful to comics I hadn’t read, like most of the audience. We came in with Bill Bixby & Lou Ferrigno as my blueprint. The movie used Peter David’s retcon origin as the starting point. Imagine watching Sam Raimi’s Spider-man and in that first film we see Flint Marko accidentally shoot Uncle Ben, but Peter doesn’t know. It would be jarring & off-putting. When Bruce shows up as Krenzler, I remember people in a packed theater reacting in confusion because his last name wasn’t Banner. It completely started off on the wrong foot narratively. So we weren’t there for the characters and the arcs. Ang Lee should have let it be an accident and saved the retcon of dad experimenting and abuse for a sequel. I get what he wanted to do and glad you see it, but you have to crawl before you try to run. Anyway. Great video. Rewatching Hulk right now with some more appreciation.

I know it has been awhile since you made this video,this is the first time I have seen it and I don't know if you are going to mention this later in the video or thqaqt you will ever read this post.That said you just siad in the video that Robin just picked up the shirt,then he picks it up again,how did no one notice this?If you were watching the same video i was as I had to see it much later on dvde I said the same thing,however as the story progressis you see this type of thing not only happen again,but it repeats several times the shifts becoming more and more pronounced,as part of the story,perhaps after readiong this text you will go back and rewatch this episode and notice that this is deliberate.

honestly two of the worst parts of the movie is the neon Gotham and Tommy Lee Jones' over acting horrible portrayal of Two-Face.

The best HULK film so far in existence. I am so glad it is getting its dues. Been my favorite since way back on VHS. Beautiful, beautiful movie.

This was one of the movies i would i watch when it came on randomly on the tv and as a kid i always started tearing up without a reason. One day when i grew up my mom tells me how much i loved watching it even though i was sobbing cause of the overdose of emotion. This movie was truly an emotional rollercoaster

Batman forever is not misunderstood or a masterpiece lol. That’s just false It’s an enjoyable film, but it’s a huge step down from the Tim Burton films. It’s far more aimed towards children, two face and riddler are basically the joker, and Robin is like 25 lol. I like the movie but masterpiece? Nah
